Adobe records $6.76 billion revenue and crosses 1 billion monthly active users amid freemium shift

Adobe achieved record quarterly earnings driven by AI adoption and a massive user base, though investors watched closely regarding future growth projections.

Adobe announced third-quarter revenue of $6.76 billion, exceeding analyst estimates of approximately $6.7 billion. The company reported 13% year-over-year growth in revenue. Adjusted earnings reached $6.13 per share, and net income totaled $1.83 billion or $4.62 per diluted share. Total monthly active users surpassed one billion for the first time, with creative freemium monthly active users exceeding 100 million. Acrobat and Express alone accounted for more than 900 million monthly users. Adobe stated that expanding access to free products is a deliberate strategy to attract new users as artificial intelligence reshapes software usage. Despite the strong financial results, Adobe shares declined during extended trading before recovering to close at $252.23, a 1.4% increase for the day. Market reaction reflected concerns about near-term growth expectations tied to the freemium model's impact on recurring revenue indicators.
