US President Donald Trump told reporters in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday, that Iran likely carried out an aerial strike against Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline. The attack closed the facility, one of the kingdom's primary routes for exporting crude while bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. Trump described Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as a good friend and stated he spoke with the prince regarding the situation. He added that officials from the Yemen-based Iran-aligned Houthis called his administration expressing a preference to keep the US out of the conflict, noting most ships continue moving. These remarks occurred after meetings in Dublin with Irish President Catherine Connolly and Prime Minister Micheál Martin. Trump planned to address business leaders at the US ambassador's residence before traveling to Doonbeg for the Irish Open golf tournament.
