Anthropic targets $100 billion IPO as Nvidia considers $10 billion investment

AI company Anthropic is negotiating a historic $100 billion public offering with tech giant Nvidia potentially committing up to $10 billion as an anchor investor.

Anthropic announced on Wednesday it is in advanced talks to launch the largest initial public offering in history, aiming to raise between $80 billion and $100 billion. The company is seeking a potential anchor investment from Nvidia of up to $10 billion to support the valuation around $2 trillion. Two sources familiar with the confidential discussions confirmed these figures but noted that all plans remain subject to change.

In September 2026, Anthropic released a technical paper modeling economic impacts of artificial intelligence in the United States by 2030. The authors described three distinct scenarios rather than providing probabilistic forecasts. The modest scenario projects annual GDP growth at 2.4%, while the substantial scenario doubles this rate to 5.4%. The extreme scenario predicts annual growth hitting 15.4% by the year 2030, with the economy doubling approximately every four and a half years.

Under the extreme scenario, cognitive employment—covering management, professional, sales, and office roles—is projected to collapse by 21.5%. Conversely, unemployment among non-cognitive workers is expected to remain relatively stable in the lower scenarios but could rise among office-specific workers to 4.5% in the substantial case. In all modeled outcomes, wages for non-cognitive labor are predicted to increase significantly.

Nvidia and Anthropic have strengthened their partnership over recent years, with Nvidia providing essential computing hardware for training its large language models. This potential capital injection from the chipmaker aims to validate the massive capital requirements of frontier AI laboratories in the eyes of public market investors.
