National Stock Exchange IPO opens September 17 with price band set at Rs 1,700 to 1,785 per share

The National Stock Exchange of India begins public subscription on September 17 with an offer for sale that will raise approximately Rs 22.6 billion for existing shareholders.

The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), the world's largest equity derivatives exchange, opened its initial public offering to the public on September 17. The subscription period closes on September 21, and share allotment is scheduled for September 22 with a listing on September 24. Investors can purchase shares within a price band ranging from Rs 1,700 to Rs 1,785 per unit. At the upper limit of this pricing range, NSE expects to raise Rs 22,561.5 crore. This total places a valuation on the exchange at Rs 4.42 lakh crore. The offering consists entirely of shares sold by ten existing shareholders and includes no fresh capital raising for NSE itself. Following related expenses, all proceeds will benefit the selling shareholders. The size of this issue was reduced by fifteen percent from the original proposal detailed in a draft red herring prospectus filed in June 2026. State Bank of India leads the shareholder sales with an offering of up to 15.9 million shares.
