Goldman Sachs India portfolio down 27% in CY26, despite top performers rising up to 130%
The Indian equity portion of Goldman Sachs' global funds dropped sharply due to widespread declines, even as a few new additions like TD Power Systems surged dramatically.
Goldman Sachs reported a sharp 27% decline in its Indian equity portfolio for the current year ending December 2026. The value fell from Rs 9,015 crore in December 2025 to Rs 6,585 crore as of September 11, 2026. As of the June 2026 quarter, the portfolio held roughly 39 stocks. Eighteen of those titles lost between 10% and 40% in value during the period. The fund manager added new positions to try to offset losses. CMR Green Technologies entered the portfolio in the June 2026 quarter and delivered a 74% gain, though the source text lists it alongside other top performers that saw larger rallies. TD Power Systems emerged as the strongest performer in CY26, surging 129% from Rs 351 to Rs 805. Goldman Sachs India holds a 2.01% stake valued at approximately Rs 252 crore. GNG Electronics gained 121%, rising from Rs 308 to Rs 680, with a holding value of nearly Rs 177 crore. Inox India increased 98% from Rs 1,134 to Rs 2,247, representing holdings worth around Rs 371 crore. Bluestone Jewellery And Lifestyle posted an 89% surge, advancing from Rs 471 to Rs 890. Its stake represents about Rs 166 crore. Sai Life Sciences saw a 74% gain, moving from Rs 908 to Rs 1,585.
