UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced a new investment pledge of €40 billion for Germany, bringing the total capital already deployed to approximately €34 billion. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced on Friday that the United Arab Emirates plans to invest an additional €40 billion in Germany. This commitment adds to existing capital estimated at around €34 billion already deployed by UAE companies in the country. The announcement occurred during his state visit, following a major gathering where 30 agreements and commercial partnerships signed by firms from both nations represented a total value of approximately €9.66 billion.
The President emphasized that private businesses must play a crucial role in advancing this strategic relationship between the two nations. He urged executives to identify new opportunities in priority areas while strengthening current investment links. The signed contracts focused on renewable energy infrastructure, oil and gas operations, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, manufacturing, logistics, transport, ports, aviation, healthcare, life sciences, agriculture, food security, and consumer goods.
During previous talks in Berlin with Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the two governments initiated a Strategic Dialogue to create a more structured framework for their partnership. This dialogue covers trade, investment, energy, technology, security, and other key sectors. The German government views these developments as critical for strengthening economic cooperation between Europe and the Middle East.
