Thailand fast-tracks 17 projects worth $921 million via accelerated approval track
Deputy Prime Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas approved 15 new industrial initiatives to accelerate construction and create thousands of jobs.
The Board of Investment approved 17 strategic industrial projects on an accelerated approval track, valuing the batch at $921 million. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas. Electronic and electrical manufacturers lead the new portfolio with 10 projects worth $556 million. These additions bring the total number of strategic FastPass projects to 42 across three rounds, with a combined planned investment exceeding $8.7 billion and projected employment of more than 27,000 people. The previous two rounds covered 25 projects from 23 companies valued at nearly $5.9 billion. The new scheme introduces tax incentives to encourage technology-focused companies to list on domestic capital markets through a BOI-to-IPO program launched with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Approval processes will now utilize service-level agreements across state agencies to shorten licensing timelines and reduce bottlenecks.
