BlueFive Acquires 30% Stake in Bugatti Rimac from Porsche
Abu Dhabi fund BlueFive Capital bought a controlling 30% share in Bugatti Rimac, leaving former owner Porsche with about €1 billion in proceeds.
Abu Dhabi-based BlueFive Capital officially owns 30% of Bugatti Rimac following a deal finalized on September 9. The transaction marked the completion of regulatory approvals needed for the purchase. Under this new structure, BlueFive became the largest shareholder after Porsche sold its interests to a consortium led by New York's HOF Capital. Rimac Group maintains its 55% controlling stake in the company. As part of the agreement, BlueFive received one seat on the Bugatti Rimac board and two observer seats. Financial details regarding the purchase price were not disclosed separately. The sale formed part of a wider deal where Porsche disposed of its holdings to the HOF-led group, which also included institutional investors from the United States and Europe. Porsche stated the divestment would generate approximately €1 billion. The sports-car maker intends to direct €250 million of these funds to meet pension obligations. Consequently, Porsche revised its forecast for 2026 automotive net cash flow margin upward to between 5.5% and 7.5%, moving from a previous projection range of 3% to 5%.
