Altsman confirms OpenAI will not list shares in 2026; World Bank proposes $12 billion for regional food security

Sam Altman stated OpenAI's initial public offering remains off the table for 2026, while the World Bank introduced a $12 billion annual fund to convert food insecurity into economic opportunity across seven developing regions.

Sam Altman confirmed that OpenAI does not plan to launch an initial public offering in 2026. Simultaneously, the International Monetary Fund announced a $12 billion annual fund aimed at transforming food security challenges into economic opportunities within specific developing regions. The World Bank highlighted that over 4 million people in these areas live with severe food insecurity, and 42 percent cannot afford a healthy diet. These regions face acute water scarcity alongside a projected 67 percent surge in global food demand by 2050. Consequently, the institution argues that meeting this demand requires shifting resource management strategies, specifically regarding water usage and diversifying trade to attract investment. The proposal emphasizes the necessity of expanding investments in agricultural infrastructure rather than solely focusing on immediate aid distribution.
