Saudi Arabia temporarily halted its East-West crude oil pipeline on September 11 following multiple drone strikes that damaged route sections, according to the Energy Ministry. The incidents occurred on September 10 in the Riyadh and Madinah regions, causing injuries and material damage. Emergency and technical teams are currently securing the system under approved safety procedures while assessing integrity. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks. The Foreign Ministry stated the drones were launched from Iraq. Iraqi authorities acknowledged the origin of the attacks within Maysan province and opened an investigation. They dismissed a senior military commander involved in operations, noting that no group is responsible at this time. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani asked Saudi Arabia to wait before retaliating, though Riyadh reserved the right to take measures needed to protect sovereignty.
