Ant International Opensources Agentic Mobile Protocol for 1.5 Billion Accounts

Ant International has open-sourced the Agentic Mobile Protocol on GitHub, establishing a potential global standard for autonomous artificial intelligence agents handling purchases. The protocol integrates into Ant's Alipay+ cross-border network, which currently links to ten major Asian digital wallets including AlipayHK, Starryblu, and KakaoPay. These systems collectively serve 1.5 billion consumer accounts as the initial phase of deployment. Yang Jiang-ming, Ant International's chief innovation officer, stated the protocol enables agents to act as trusted actors within existing mobile payment systems. Simultaneously, Ant International announced a partnership with Visa and Mastercard to create a Know-Your-Agent framework for standardized identity verification across card networks and digital wallets. This strategy aims to let software execute end-to-end commercial tasks beyond simple information provision. The move follows similar initiatives by Indian platform Super.money, which is also deploying AI agents to purchase products and digital gold under National Payments Corporation of India protocols.
