The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) denied taking responsibility for the company's departure, stating that Uber based its decision on internal economic and regulatory factors. FAAN Managing Director Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku confirmed that passenger complaints regarding poor experiences spiked during the December holiday period. These issues included drivers intimidating passengers and dropping them off at locations different from their intended destinations. Tensions also persisted between the authority and ride-hailing companies over disputes concerning driver liability and designated pickup zones at airports. Kuku emphasized her priority was ensuring passenger safety and a seamless experience, yet she clarified that she could not comment on Uber's specific exit decision.
