Limetax Raises €36 Million to Scale AI Accounting Group in Germany
Berlin startup Limetax secured €36 million in funding led by Motive Partners and a German bank consortium. The capital supports the expansion of its AI platform designed for Germany's 54,000 tax firms.
Limetax has raised €36 million to build a group of AI-powered accounting and tax firms. The round includes €6 million in pre-Seed equity and €30 million in a credit facility from German banks. Motive Partners led the new investment alongside Activant and Heliad. Former German Finance Minister Christian Lindner, Rocket Internet executive Alexander Kudlich, and Moss founders Anton Rummel and Ante Spittler also invested. Christoph Gamon, co-founder and CEO, stated the future of advisory requires rethinking technology and human work together rather than just adding AI tools. The company was founded in January 2026 by Gamon, Maximilian Meyer, and Christoph Dansard to address constraints facing Germany's nearly 54,000 tax firms. Gamon previously served as CFO at Razor Group, which reached a reported valuation exceeding $500 million.
