Milan-based startup Cato raises €6 million for public tender AI platform

Cato secured €6 million in seed funding from Keen Venture Partners to expand its AI tools for government contracts, following a prior €1.6 million pre-seed round.

Milan-based Cato, an artificial intelligence platform designed to assist businesses in locating and winning public tenders, closed a €6 million seed financing round. Keen Venture Partners led the investment, which included contributions from existing investors such as Vento, Heartfelt, and Moonstone. The venture capital firm based in Amsterdam and London joined a new group of angel investors, including founders from Lexroom, Sibill, and Pillar. Andrea Zorzetto, CEO and co-founder of Cato, stated that the company has already processed thousands of tenders during its initial phase. He noted that clients view the technology as an ally for analyzing requirements and preparing bids to increase winning odds. The €6 million round follows a €1.6 million pre-seed round raised earlier by Italian Founders Fund. Founded in 2025 by Zorzetto and Matteo Bossolini, Cato targets the public sector. The company estimates that government contracts represent approximately €2.5 trillion annually across more than 250,000 contracting authorities within the European Union.
