Damietta Port Handled 53,606 Tons of Imports Today, Including 40,645 Tons of Corn
Damietta Port processed over 53,000 tons of general cargo imports today, primarily corn and scrap. The facility handled 13 arriving ships while dispatching 10, maintaining a grain reserve stockpile of nearly 29,000 tons in private warehouses.
The Port Authority of Damietta announced that the port received 13 vessels on Monday, with 10 ships departing and 31 total ships currently moored. General cargo imports totaled 53,606 tons, consisting mainly of 40,645 tons of corn, 7,527 tons of scrap metal, 416 tons of pine wood, and 4,164 tons of diverse goods. Exports of general goods reached 20,778 tons, featuring 7,000 tons of sugar fodder, 1,300 tons of coal, 5,100 tons of urea, 1,262 tons of iron, and 6,116 tons of miscellaneous items. Container traffic recorded 283 imported TEUs, 309 exported TEUs, and 2,556 transshipment TEUs. Grain reserves in private warehouses sit at 28,985 tons. Additionally, one train carrying 1,068 tons of wheat departed for Quibliya silos, while truck movements totalled 4,449 entries and exits.
