BioInnovation Institute awards €1.3 million to six life sciences startups
Copenhagen's BioInnovation Institute injected €1.3 million each into PanTarg, 3Sonic, Inia Biosciences, Yngvi Bio, Proxi Biotech, and Sagava. This funding brings the total capital received by each recipient to €1.8 million.
The Copenhagen-based BioInnovation Institute (BII) distributed convertible loans totaling €1.3 million each to six of its portfolio companies. The recipients are PanTarg, 3Sonic, Inia Biosciences, Yngvi Bio, Proxi Biotech, and Sagava. These companies have previously secured €500,000 from the institute, which now raises their total funding to €1.8 million per entity. BII stated that the group demonstrated strong potential by moving from promising research toward market-ready solutions. The Danish innovation institute supports translational research in life sciences and DeepTech through a combination of expertise, networks, infrastructure, and financing. Since 2018, BII has backed over 140 startups whose alumni have collectively raised more than €1 billion in external capital. In February 2026, the institute secured an additional €25 million from the Novo Nordisk Foundation to launch the 'Upscalator' initiative.
