Italian VC Techshop raises €43 million for AI B2B fund

Techshop II closed its first round at €43 million, exceeding initial goals to target €100 million by 2027. Reference investors include CDP Venture Capital and funds leveraging NextGenerationEU resources.

Milan-based venture capital firm Techshop announced the initial closing of its new fund, Techshop II, at a total amount of €43 million. This capital is designated for pre-Seed and Seed stage startups focused on artificial intelligence software designed for business processes. The firm stated this edition surpassed its original fundraising target and now aims to raise €100 million by the end of 2027. Giovanni Strocchi, Gianluca D'Agostino, and Aurelio Mezzotero, partners at Techshop, emphasized that modern software automates entire business operations rather than simply digitizing tasks. They noted the need for specialized investors willing to engage with founders immediately to provide operational expertise and international co-investment. CDP Venture Capital has joined as a reference investor in the deal. Through FoF VenturItaly II and the Digital Transition Fund, which utilizes resources from NextGenerationEU, the firm supports supply chain digital transitions and small and medium-sized enterprises. The commitment level may increase as funding from third-party investors progresses. This launch occurs alongside other European venture funds raising dedicated capital for early-stage artificial intelligence in 2026.
