Algeria breaks ties with UAE after exhausting diplomatic efforts

Algeria ended diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, citing that all available avenues to preserve ties had been exhausted. State television announced the decision, which marks a formal rupture in a dispute that had already damaged political and transport connections between the two nations. Prior to this announcement, Algeria had begun procedures to terminate a bilateral air services agreement signed in 2013, signaling significant deterioration in official relations. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune used increasingly pointed language regarding interference by an unnamed Gulf state in Algerian affairs, though he distinguished his nation's dispute from its relationship with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar.
