Solana network issued record 263,000 tokens in single day

The Solana blockchain set a new high with 263,000 token mints on Wednesday, surpassing the 40,000 daily issuance from the December memecoin peak.

The Solana network reached an all-time high in daily token issuance on Wednesday, minting more than 263,000 new tokens. This figure exceeded the volume seen during the last significant surge in activity at the end of 2024. Data from Solscan confirms the total count for that specific day. During the peak memecoin cycle in December, daily issuance averaged between 40,000 and 50,000 tokens. In late December alone, launchpads issued exactly 40,360 tokens. The largest portion of those mints came from Pump.fun, a leading protocol responsible for minting 34,184 coins that day. A launchpad allows creators to design and trade memecoins with minimal technical requirements by automating the creation process and providing immediate liquidity. In recent hours, DefiLlama recorded $1.8 million in daily revenue for Pump.fun, while trading app Fomo briefly exceeded its earnings on Friday. Pump.fun generated $124 million during Solana's first quarter of 2026, representing one-third of the blockchain ecosystem's total quarterly revenue of $342 million.
