Porsche sells stake in Bugatti Rimac; BlueFive Capital acquires 30% share
Abu Dhabi's BlueFive Capital secured a 30% equity stake in Bugatti Rimac from Porsche on September 9, becoming the second-largest shareholder. Porsche sold its remaining interests to a consortium led by HOF Capital for approximately €1 billion.
BlueFive Capital completed the acquisition of a 30% equity stake in Bugatti Rimac following regulatory approvals received on September 9. The Abu Dhabi-based firm now holds the largest individual position among shareholders after its purchase from Porsche. The deal included a board seat and two observer seats for BlueFive representatives. Rimac Group retains a 55% controlling interest in the entity. This transaction represented the final phase of Porsche selling its 45% stake in Bugatti Rimac and its holding in Rimac Group to a consortium led by New York-based HOF Capital, which included American and European institutional investors alongside BlueFive. The consortium's purchase generated proceeds of about €1 billion for Porsche. The German automotive maker allocated €250 million of those funds to further fund pension obligations. Porsche also adjusted its forecast for 2026, raising the expected automotive net cash flow margin to between 5.5% and 7.5%, up from a previous projection of 3% to 5%. This revised outlook accounted for both the divestment proceeds and the funding of pension liabilities.
