The Bahraini foreign ministry announced on Saturday that King Salman's government will not attend the proposed Gulf state meeting with Iran scheduled to take place in Oman. The discussion was intended to address tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, but Manama decided against joining until formal diplomatic ties between Tehran and the capital are reestablished. Officials pointed to a series of attacks by Iran on critical infrastructure across the Gulf as the primary reason for this absence. The ministry explicitly stated that regional security cannot be achieved through silence or appeasement when such aggression continues.
