Ben Delo gives $97 million to Reform UK
British crypto billionaire Ben Delo donated nearly $100 million to Reform UK, the largest single gift in British political history. This contribution follows previous donations by Delo and George Cottrell.
British cryptocurrency entrepreneur Ben Delo delivered a total donation of roughly $97 million to Nigel Farage's Reform UK. The sum includes a recent transfer of about $49 million from Delo, a former co-founder of BitMEX. This specific gift set a new record for the biggest single contribution ever made to a British political party. Delo stated he provided funds to guarantee a 'fair fight' in upcoming elections. Farage acknowledged the gesture as a sign of confidence in his party's ability to reverse what he describes as Britain's decline. Delo previously topped the list of major donors, beating billionaire Christopher Harborne who gave around $12 million last August. Earlier this year, Delo was linked to a separate inquiry involving donations and gifts from figures tied to the digital asset sector, including George Cottrell and Harborne. Farage resigned his parliamentary seat in July amid that specific scandal. He subsequently won the resulting by-election with approximately 63 percent of the vote against a satirical candidate named Count Binface.
