Gravity Gardens secures €2.6 million in Seed round

Dutch AgTech startup Gravity Gardens raised €2.6 million from VP Capital and others to scale its dry, chemical-free seed technology.

Gravity Gardens, a Nijmegen-based company focused on European agriculture, closed a Seed funding round valued at €2.6 million. This transaction combines equity investment with EFRO regional development funds provided by backers including VP Capital, Brightlands Venture Partners (BVP), and Graduate Ventures alongside private investors. The capital raise follows initial support from StartLife and an innovation loan from Rabobank, bringing the startup's total raised to over €3 million. Founded in 2024 by CEO Paulino Valdés and CTO Robin Le Vigouroux, the company operates a dry seed activation process that eliminates water, chemicals, and seed coating requirements. The technology is designed to improve crop establishment for arable and horticultural crops while reducing natural resource use. VP Capital's Erica van Eeghen highlighted the investment as impactful for improving agricultural foundations. Gravity Gardens developed its technology with support from the European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre (ESA BIC) Noordwijk.
