TikTok removed 15.5 million video violations across eight MENA markets in Q1 2026
TikTok reported the removal of over 15.5 million videos violating community guidelines across key Middle East and North African nations during the first quarter of 2026, alongside a significant rise in suspended livestreams globally.
In the first quarter of 2026, TikTok deleted more than 15,519,240 videos across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Iraq, Morocco, Lebanon, and Sudan that violated its Community Guidelines. The platform stated these actions reflect a continued focus on safety and accountability within the Middle East and North Africa region. Beyond regional enforcement, TikTok removed 86,288,705 fake accounts globally and flagged another 25,764,372 accounts suspected of belonging to minors under 13 during the same period. The company cited automated detection, account-level enforcement, and human review as methods used to maintain a safer environment for younger users. On a broader scale, TikTok suspended over 50 million livestream sessions globally from January through March 2026. This represented an 18.6 percent increase compared to the previous quarter. Additionally, 58 million sessions faced demonetization or warnings, and approximately 22 million creators were subject to these financial restrictions. The data indicates a sharp escalation in platform moderation activity during this reporting period.
