TCS invests up to $7.4 billion in Hyderabad AI campus
Tata Consultancy Services plans to build India's largest AI infrastructure project with a $7.41 billion investment across 264 acres.
A subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services, HyperVault AI Data Center Limited, secured 264 acres in Hyderabad, Telangana, on Saturday for a massive artificial intelligence data center campus. The company and its partners agreed to invest up to ₹700 billion (approximately $7.41 billion) to construct the facility. This investment covers development costs for building and operating the infrastructure over time. The project targets a total energy capacity of 1 gigawatt, which ranks among India's largest planned AI-focused data center developments if fully completed. The campus is designed to serve frontier AI companies, hyperscalers, and large enterprises requiring high-density graphics processing unit deployments. Development will occur in phases based on customer demand and evolving technology requirements. TCS CEO K Krithivasan stated that Hyderabad provides the necessary scale, talent, and ecosystem to support global clients. This move aligns with the company's broader strategy to establish more than one gigawatt of AI-ready capacity across key locations. The announcement was made during a period when TCS also finalized an agreement to purchase Porsche AG's automotive consulting unit.
