Serasa launches debt renegotiation campaign with up to 99% discount for 8.7 million debts
Serasa and Mercado Pago launched a joint campaign offering discounts of up to 99% on over 8.7 million overdue debts, targeting more than 1.6 million Brazilian consumers.
Serasa partnered with Mercado Pago to launch the 'Todo Mundo Ama Cupom em Dobro' campaign, aiming to renegotiate approximately 8.7 million overdue debts through discounts as high as 99%. According to Serasa data, over 1.6 million individuals in Brazil may have one or more eligible debts within this initiative. The program includes more than two thousand partner companies covering banks, retailers, financial institutions, and basic utility providers like water and electricity. Consumers receiving a cash settlement via the coupon also obtain a second coupon for purchases on Mercado Livre using their account balance or Cofrinho.
Serasa highlighted that the campaign addresses debt levels affecting 83.9 million Brazilian adults, representing 51.04% of the adult population. In the state of Rio de Janeiro alone, over 911 thousand offers were available to more than 174 thousand consumers. There, nearly eight million inadherent citizens account for 59.53% of the adult population in the region.
