Mubadala Energy cuts 2025 emissions by 30.9%
Mubadala Energy reported a 30.9% reduction in its 2025 Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions, driven by operational improvements and the sale of its Indonesia asset.
Mubadala Energy reduced its Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 30.9% from operated assets in 2025. The company also lowered emissions intensity by 12.4% and flared gas intensity by 33.9%. Adnan Bu Fateem, the acting chief executive, attributed these gains to operational improvements, ongoing decarbonization initiatives, and the divestment of its Ruby asset in Indonesia in August 2025. In its 2025 Sustainability Report, published on Wednesday, Mubadala Energy stated it has maintained zero spills and zero fatalities since inception while strengthening environmental, social, and governance controls. The company noted that global factors such as rising demand, geopolitical uncertainty, and sustainability pressures are shaping the energy sector. Adnan Bu Fateem emphasized that the group is aligning responsible growth with continued ESG progress under the theme 'Energizing the Next Chapter'.
