HK Science Park launches third InnoHK research cluster focused on energy and advanced manufacturing

The government of the Hong Kong SAR collaborated with the Innovation and Technology Commission to open SEAM@InnoHK, a new joint venture between top local and international academic institutions at the Hong Kong Science Park.

On September 1, 2026, the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation hosted the launch of the third InnoHK research cluster at the Hong Kong Science Park. The event focused on sustainable development, energy, advanced manufacturing, and materials science. Top local and international academic and research institutions jointly led this new platform. Professor Sun Dong acted as Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, while Mr Terry Wong served as Chief Executive Officer of HKSTP during the ceremony. Guests included Ms Cordelia Chung, Chairman of HKSTP, and officials from the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR. The launch highlighted Hong Kong's research capabilities and collaboration networks regarding emerging domains.
