Boeing delivered 51 aircraft in August, dropping below last year's pace
US airline maker Boeing reported August deliveries of 51 jets, marking a slight decline compared to the previous month and missing last year's volume of 57. The reduction was attributed solely to fewer delivery schedules for the 787 Dreamliner model.
Boeing stated on Tuesday that it delivered 51 aircraft in August, a decrease from the 57 planes sent out the prior month. This figure also fell short of the 57 aircraft delivered during the same period last year. The manufacturer attributed the drop to lower customer delivery schedules for its 787 Dreamliner model, noting only four 787 deliveries versus nine in August of 2015. A spokesperson confirmed that production issues, supply chain disruptions, or certification delays did not cause the decline. Cumulative deliveries from January through August reached 54 units for the wide-body twin-engine jet. The company expressed plans to deliver between 90 and 100 more 787s by year-end. Among its other models, 41 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft were delivered, including nine to Southwest Airlines, eight to United Airlines, and five to leasing firm AerCap. To date, the total count of aircraft delivered stands at 418, representing the highest volume since early 2018.
