Wistron raises $1.47 billion in global share sale to fund raw material purchases
Taiwan's Wistron Corp announced a $1.47 billion equity offering to purchase raw materials while expanding AI server capacity in Taiwan and the US.
Wistron Corporation raised $1.47 billion through a global depositary receipt offering to secure funding for raw material acquisitions. The company priced 25 million receipts at $58.88 each, representing 250 million new common shares. This transaction valued each share at approximately T$186.24, roughly a 5.5% discount from the Monday closing price of T$197. Wistron stated it would utilize these proceeds to buy materials in foreign currencies. The issuance involves about 7.29% new shares relative to existing outstanding stock. Shares fell more than 6% Tuesday after the announcement. Management confirmed that capital expenditure approvals include an additional NT$10.5 billion for Taiwan facilities and $53 million for U.S. subsidiaries. Wistron opened a $700 million AI server plant in Fort Worth, Texas, in July to manufacture Nvidia systems.
