Business organizations representing major industries released a joint manifesto titled Manifesto à Nação Brasileira on Thursday. They called for the full court to examine the facts in public sessions with absolute urgency, criticizing potential corporate influences. The entities labeled the situation a severe institutional crisis and warned that losing legitimacy would harm legal confidence. On the foreign exchange market, the US dollar strengthened against the Brazilian real while the US dollar declined against other currencies. Petrol prices exceeded US$100 for the first time since July.
