Sonos CEO reports core customer metrics at decade highs
Sonos chief executive Tom Conrad says the company's core customer metrics are the best in a decade, marking significant recovery after a 2024 app redesign failure.
Tom Conrad, chief executive of Sonos, reports that the company's core customer metrics have reached their highest levels in ten years. The audio firm saw its share price recover from US$8 to US$15.60 following the botched May 2024 app redesign. Before taking over in July last year, revenue forecasts had been slashed after the launch of a new app made many speakers unusable for some users. Conrad notes that user activity is genuine because he interacts directly with thousands of customers weekly to troubleshoot technical issues via social media. He stated that while quantitative data shows improvement, the qualitative response from users indicates a reset in trust. The company currently faces competition from other smart speaker technologies but maintains its status as a Nasdaq-listed firm.
