OK Zimbabwe launches restocking program after $30 million debt deferral agreement
OK Zimbabwe begins reopening stores and resuming supplier deliveries following a deal to defer payments on over US$30 million in legacy debts.
OK Zimbabwe has initiated a major restocking program after securing credit facilities from two local banks. Corporate Rescue Practitioner Bulisa Mbano confirmed that debt deferrals with major creditors created the liquidity needed to restart operations. This agreement allows manufacturers such as Dairibord, ZimGold, Olivine, National Foods, and Nestlé to resume deliveries. The retailer is reopening branches closed during its financial crisis. The company entered corporate rescue in February 2026 following a cash-flow crisis involving falling revenues and supplier debts exceeding US$30 million. OK Zimbabwe struggled with price mismatches between local currency sales and dollar-based inventory costs, which eroded profit margins.
