Isar Aerospace completes first successful private orbital launch, securing over €10 billion in orders
German startup Isar Aerospace achieved a historic milestone by successfully deploying payloads to low Earth orbit. Chief Commercial Officer Stella Guillen reported the company has a pipeline of orders exceeding €10 billion.
Isar Aerospace, based in Munich, became Europe's first private firm to achieve a successful orbital launch over the weekend. The Spectrum rocket reached orbit on Saturday and placed its payloads in low Earth orbit following only its second test flight. Chief Commercial Officer Stella Guillen confirmed to CNBC on Monday that the company focused on scaling production capabilities after the event. She described current industry demand as 'desperate,' noting new constellations and projects are financed. Guillen stated Isar possesses a pipeline worth more than 10 billion euros, though she did not immediately specify how many represented contracted orders. The Munich-based startup aims to increase launch frequency while acknowledging European infrastructure requires expansion to support growth. Operations remain smaller than those of major U.S. competitors.
