Inflation index IPC-Fipe rises 0.26% in early September first quarter data
São Paulo consumer prices increased 0.26% in the first four weeks of September according to Fipe calculations.
The Inflation Index (IPC), tracking prices in São Paulo, rose 0.26 percent during the first quarter of September. The Fundação Instituto de Pesquisas Econômicas (Fipe) released these figures on Thursday, October 10th. This performance follows a slight increase of 0.01 percent recorded in August. Out of seven components measured, five showed acceleration compared to the previous month. Housing costs jumped from negative growth to positive at 0.54 percent. Clothing prices rose marginally from 0.32 percent to 0.33 percent. Food expenses slowed their decline from minus 0.18 percent to minus 0.17 percent, while transport and education categories also showed deceleration in their downward movement. Conversely, personal spending and health costs cooled down significantly, dropping from 1.34 percent and 0.24 percent respectively to 1.20 percent and 0.19 percent.
