DP World and GulfCap sign agreement for Mombasa industrial park venture
Partners signed a Shareholders Agreement to develop the site, which is expected to create over 20,000 jobs.
On September 8, DP World and GulfCap Africa formalized their joint venture to develop the 222-hectare Mombasa Industrial Park in Kenya. The companies signed a Shareholders Agreement at State House in Nairobi during President William Ruto's presence. This partnership aims to build a major special economic zone focused on manufacturing and logistics. The first phase covers 40 hectares of the total site, located less than 20 kilometers from the Port of Mombasa. Over 60 local and international companies have indicated interest in occupying space within the planned facility. The completed development targets direct and indirect employment creation exceeding 20,000 positions, contingent upon investment uptake and operational pacing.
