Consensys Software Inc. to Rebrand as MetaMask Under Joe Lubin
Blockchain firm Consensys Software Inc. is changing its name to MetaMask, a move led by Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin who will become the new chairman and chief executive officer.
Consensys Software Inc., currently the operating entity behind the popular wallet tool, is restructuring its corporate identity. The company will adopt the name MetaMask, an action spearheaded by Joe Lubin, a co-founder of Ethereum. Under this new arrangement, Lubin is set to serve as both the chairman and chief executive officer. While the existing legal entity, Consensys Software Inc., retains its operational role during the transition, it will undergo a formal rebranding to reflect the new leadership structure. The organization has not yet confirmed whether an initial public offering is part of this strategic shift. This restructuring focuses on aligning the brand with its core function in the cryptocurrency ecosystem rather than expanding into general financial services or traditional banking sectors.
