Brazil's IPCA+ 2032 bond yield fell to 7.81% from 7.94%
Brazilian Treasury yields declined significantly Friday following surprisingly strong US employment data, with the IPCA+ 2032 title dropping to its lowest level since mid-May.
On Friday, rates for Brazilian government bonds linked to inflation fell, driven by a domestic economic environment that overshadowed recent labor market information from the United States. The IPCA+ 2032 bond registered the largest decline in performance. Its yield dropped from 7.94% at the close of Thursday to 7.81% at 12:07 on Friday, a retreat of 13 basis points and the minimum recorded since May 29. The IPCA+ with Semi-Annual Interest for 2037 decreased from 7.60% to 7.51%, while the 2040 issue fell from 7.39% to 7.30%. Each of these titles posted a decline of 9 basis points. In prefixed bonds, movements were less pronounced. The Prefixado 2032 receded from 14.29% to 14.23%, and the Prefixado with Semi-Annual Interest for 2037 moved from 14.35% to 14.29%. Inflation-related titles showed smaller decreases compared to others.
