$3.52 billion inflows mark Bitcoin ETF best August in 2026

US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds attracted $3.52 billion in net inflows during August 2026, their highest monthly total of the year. This surge pushed total net assets to $99.61 billion and helped cut year-to-date outflows by 66%.

US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded their best month of 2026 in August, attracting $3.52 billion in net inflows according to SoSoValue data. The amount represented a sharp increase from $172 million in July and matched the fund's largest monthly total for the year. Bitcoin gained approximately 25% during the month, its strongest performance since a 37.29% rally in November 2024 per CoinGlass. Total net assets within the funds rose to $99.61 billion at month-end from $76.29 billion at July's conclusion, an increase of roughly 31%. Funds recorded net inflows on 16 of 21 trading days in August, including nine consecutive sessions from Aug. 17 through Aug. 27. Monthly trading volume climbed nearly 49% to $58.63 billion from $39.37 billion the prior month. This influx reduced year-to-date net outflows by roughly 66%, dropping totals from $5.29 billion to $1.77 billion. The previous biggest monthly outflows occurred in June at $4.51 billion and January at $1.61 billion. August momentum quickly faded into September, as ETF flows turned negative with $236 million in net outflows recorded on Tuesday alone.
