The US State Department granted approval for a military transaction between Riyadh and Washington totaling an estimated $5 billion. This agreement covers missile attack ammunition and related equipment. In an official statement, US officials confirmed Boeing will be the primary company selected for this contract. The administration stated this transaction supports US foreign policy goals and national security objectives by strengthening the capabilities of a key non-NATO Gulf region ally. Officials explained that approving the sale enhances Saudi Arabia's air defense capacity to address current and future regional threats. Additionally, the deal is designed to improve internal security and ensure interoperability with systems used by US forces and other Gulf partners. The Saudi military will be able to integrate these articles and services into its armed forces without difficulty. Regarding potential compensation payments, the US government currently holds no knowledge of any proposed arrangements between the buyer and the contractor.
