TSMC Reports 53% Revenue Jump to $16.35 Billion in August Amid AI Surge

The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, TSMC, reported monthly revenue of 514.8 billion new Taiwanese dollars, equating to US$ 16.35 billion for August. This figure represents a 53.3% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. The company operates strictly as a foundry, manufacturing chips on specification for other brands rather than creating its own consumer products. TSMC serves as the primary producer of semiconductors for Nvidia and is also the main manufacturer of the main processors inside iPhones produced by Apple. Following the release of these sales figures, the American Depositary Receipts representing shares of TSMC fell 0.13% in the pre-market trading session on Friday morning.
