The Origem Energia company is growing its operations within Brazil. Luiz Felipe Coutinho, the CEO and co-founder, established the firm approximately ten years ago to change how fuel is imported. He stated that the Brazilian natural gas industry suffered from excessive concentration. The new approach focuses on land-based natural gas production and integrated infrastructure solutions. This strategy targets national security and energy diversification by relying on domestic sources rather than imports.
The company currently operates in four Brazilian states. Financial goals include reaching more than R$ 2 billion in revenue for the year 2026. Management notes that expanding operations is straightforward, but maintaining profitability remains a significant challenge. The shift toward domestic energy generation aims to replace previous models that depended heavily on imported fuel.
