Nikkei 225 Adds JX Advanced Metals, Kokusai Electric and Capcom
JX Advanced Metals, Kokusai Electric and Capcom join the Nikkei 225 effective October 1, replacing Archion, Konica Minolta, and Kanadevia.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange announced a specific revision to the Nikkei 225 index constituents on September 4, 2026. Three companies entered the benchmark list: JX Advanced Metals, Kokusai Electric, and Capcom. The exchange stated it will include these firms effective October 1. Officials explained that adding JX Advanced Metals and Kokusai Electric was based on market liquidity conditions. The inclusion of Capcom aims to improve sectoral balance within the index. Simultaneously, three other companies were removed from the index: Archion, Konica Minolta, and Kanadevia. A related climate-linked index known as the Nikkei 225 Climate Change 1.5°C Target Index will also drop Archion and Konica Minolta starting October 1. Additionally, Konica Minolta was eliminated from a separate Global Exposure 50 Index effective that same date. This adjustment is part of the exchange's regular review process to maintain index composition.
