Nigeria received $208.29 million from the World Bank during the first half of 2026, contributing to a cumulative total of about $744.61 million under the National Social Safety Net Programme-Scale Up facility. This transaction represented 93.1% of the original $800 million approved in December 2021. The new funds were disbursed across three tranches in June 2026, totaling $50 million on June 22 and part of a larger drawdown cycle that began earlier in the year. Earlier that month, the government received $150 million on April 29 and $8.29 million on April 8. Records show a reversal of $83.65 million occurred on February 1, which was immediately re-disbursed that same day with no net impact on total access. The International Development Association financed the project under Credit No. IDA-70190. These funds are intended to strengthen social protection systems and assist poor and vulnerable households facing persistent economic pressures.
