Netanyahu Claims Iran Regime on Verge of Collapse During Syria Visit
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told troops in southern Syria that the Iranian regime is very close to falling. He stated the entire opposing axis will ultimately collapse during his trip on Wednesday.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared during a visit to Israeli troops in southern Syria on Wednesday that the Iranian government was on the verge of collapse. Speaking from the Syrian side of Mount Hermon alongside Defence Minister Israel Katz, Netanyahu asserted that the main task remains bringing down what he termed the terror regime in Tehran. He added knowledge that the entire opposing axis will ultimately collapse, though he noted work still needs to be done. Israeli forces occupy a security zone in southern Syria since December 2024. This area was previously a United Nations buffer zone separating Israeli and Syrian forces since 1974. Damascus condemned two weeks of troop movements there, calling them a flagrant violation of sovereignty. Israel has carried out hundreds of strikes in the region since Assad's fall and maintains repeated incursions into Syrian territory.
