Mastercard launches Crypto Credential for Busha Nigeria users immediately
Mastercard has partnered with Busha to enable unique verified aliases for digital asset transfers in Nigeria, replacing blockchain addresses to reduce failed transactions.
Effective immediately, eligible users of the Busha digital asset exchange in Nigeria can now use a unique Crypto Credential alias. This partnership expands the Mastercard Crypto Credential network across Africa by allowing verified transfers between participating exchanges and wallets. The system replaces lengthy blockchain addresses with simple, trusted identifiers. Before a transaction completes, it confirms the recipient can receive the specific digital asset on the intended blockchain. This reduces the likelihood of failed or misdirected transfers. Gabriel Swanepoel, division president for Africa at Mastercard, stated that digital asset transfers should be as intuitive and trusted as other forms of digital payments. Busha joins a select group of exchanges in Africa enabling this technology. Both companies aim to make digital asset transactions simpler and more accessible.
