Institutional investors added R$ 11.39 billion to the B3 in August

Brazilian institutional funds returned as net buyers of R$ 11.39 billion, though physical individuals contributed only R$ 2.09 billion.

Brazilian institutional investors resumed buying on the B3 stock exchange in August, adding a net inflow of R$ 11.39 billion according to recent data. Institutional funds moved from a period of caution back toward the front line of buyers. Brazilian physical individuals also added capital to the market with a net positive balance of R$ 2.09 billion in the same month, though their participation intensity remained lower than institutional activity. Foreign investor pressure had weakened as external flows improved late in August by R$ 18.12 billion negatively. An Itaú BBA report based on buy-side conversations indicates local fund managers started reducing cash positions and gradually increasing portfolio risk. Managers view the recent improvement from foreign entities cautiously, suspecting it may represent a temporary repositioning before a more durable allocation shift occurs.
