HFCL shares hit Rs 233.16 at lower circuit after falling 5%

Optical fiber maker HFCL fell 5% on Thursday to trigger the lower trading limit, reversing recent gains despite a 240% rally in 2026 and a strong annual report.

Shares of HFCL Ltd dropped 5% on Thursday, hitting the lower circuit on the National Stock Exchange at Rs 233.16. The price declined 7% over two trading days as investors likely took profits following a massive rally. HFCL shares gained approximately 10% in the last month and roughly 230% over the past year. Sudeep Shah of SBI Securities noted that the stock has been consolidating between Rs 257 and Rs 218 since late September.

On Saturday, HFCL released its annual report for FY26, revealing a robust expansion in its order book. The total order book reached Rs 21,206 crore, representing an 113% increase compared to the previous year. Operational revenue rose nearly 22% year-over-year to Rs 4,949 crore. EBITDA increased by over 63% to Rs 827 crore, while profit after tax climbed more than 90% to Rs 329 crore. Earnings per share also jumped 73% to Rs 2.13. Despite these strong financial results, the stock price continued to face selling pressure on Thursday.
