Harvey AI secures $550 million funding round and announces fourth 2026 acquisition

Legal tech startup Harvey raised $550 million, pushing its valuation to $15.5 billion. The company also confirmed plans to acquire Guardrails AI.

Harvey, a legal artificial intelligence startup founded in 2022, announced it has closed a funding round raising $550 million. This capital injection elevates the company's market valuation to $15.5 billion. Investors leading this round include Diffusion, a US deep tech venture fund, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Existing backers such as Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, Andreessen Horowitz, and GIC also participated. The firm noted its previous funding occurred roughly six months ago when it raised $200 million with a valuation of $11 billion. Alongside the investment announcement, Harvey stated on Wednesday that it is acquiring Guardrails AI, an artificial intelligence security platform for agents. This deal marks the fourth merger and acquisition transaction the company has executed in 2026. Industry observers view this growth as significant evidence of the expanding role of automated legal technologies.
