GCC workplace AI usage hits 93% in BCG report
The GCC region has become a global leader in artificial intelligence adoption, with 93% of frontline employees using AI multiple times weekly and 95% of leaders doing so, according to a Boston Consulting Group study.
A new report from the Boston Consulting Group reveals that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) leads the world in workplace artificial intelligence usage. Ninety-three percent of frontline workers in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar use AI at least several times a week. This figure significantly exceeds the global average of 74%. Among managers and leaders in these four nations, adoption reaches an even higher 95%. The survey defines frontline employees as white-collar workers without managerial duties.
Productivity gains are significant across the region. Fifty-eight percent of frontline employees stated AI saves them at least eight hours a week, which equates to a full working day. Managers and leaders reported similar time savings at a rate of 67%. The technology is also altering workforce expectations regarding skills. Eighty-five percent of GCC frontline employees believe AI has fundamentally changed the abilities required for their roles, compared with 92% of managers. Additionally, workers anticipate that AI agents will assume more responsibilities within their jobs.
The findings come from BCG's fourth annual report titled Strategy Matters More Than Tools.
